A message from Leanne …

Hello Ariels & Prosperos! For your singing lesson today, we are going to be working on a song from Hercules called ‘I Can Go The Distance’. We will be working on using your head voice, chest voice and creating a nice, smooth mix between the two. Please follow my video as I have created some warm ups for us to do together to make sure we are ready for the lesson. Keep up the good work guys and I look forward to seeing your videos. Please send them back to nicci@arielct.co.uk using the WeTransfer link below.

A message from Erin …

Hello Ariels and Prosperos, This week our objective is to create a jingle for a television advert. A jingle is a short song or tune which shares information with potential customers in a catchy or memorable way. There are many different types out there, some of which I have included in my intro video to give you an idea of what you can create. There are many others available on youtube if you need further inspiration.

In this lesson, you will warm up and then follow several steps in order to create your own jingle. Feel free to be as creative as you like, there are many different options you can choose. The most important thing is that you enjoy what you are putting together.

Don't forget to send in your videos to nicci@arielct.co.uk in your Ariel uniform. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Hello Ariels & Prosperos. I’m really excited to bring you your singing lesson today. Today’s focus is all about light and shade in a song. What is light and shade I hear you cry?! What I mean is using dynamics and different levels to keep the song interesting for an audience. Today’s song is ‘It’s Oh So Quiet’. Using the tips and tricks in my video, I would like to see your performances of this song, really using those contrasting dynamics. Please get your Ariel uniforms on and send your videos to nicci@arielct.co.uk using the WeTransfer link below.

A message from Miriam …

Hello Ariels and Prosperos! Today, we are going to be looking at combining singing with acting and really put our energy into ‘acting through song.’ Please watch my video for some tips! I’ve uploaded a couple of songs for you to choose from. The first one is ‘Good Girl Winnie Foster’ from Tuck Everlasting and ‘Proud of Your Boy’ from Aladdin. Some of you might not know these songs already, so this is a really good opportunity to learn something new and apply those acting skills. We really look forward to your videos so please wear your Ariel uniform and send your videos back to nicci@arielct.co.uk using the WeTransfer link below.

Hello Ariels and Prosperos! For my singing lesson today, I would like us to focus on your characterisation through song. I have chosen the song ‘You’ve Got a Friend In Me’ from Toy Story because it’s so uplifting and upbeat (and it’s one of my favourites!) Please follow the warm up I have set because that will get you ready for the lesson. Think about what character you are going to be from Toy Story and try to maintain your character throughout the song. Who are you singing to and why?

I really can’t wait to see your videos for this week so remember get your uniforms on and send your videos to nicci@arielct.co.uk. using the WeTransfer link.

Hi Ariels and Prosperos. This week’s singing lesson is ‘Love Is An Open Door’ from Frozen (I’m sure you’ve heard of it!) The reason why I’ve chosen this song for this week is because it’s a duet so it’s a really great opportunity to get your families involved or you could collaborate with your friends from Ariel. I have recorded both parts and given you the backing track so there’s lots of options here - you can learn a part and sing with me, learn a part and sing with a family member or a friend or learn both parts and record yourself. Do whatever works for you. I just want to see you engaging with the song and performing it with confidence. Get your Ariel uniforms on and send your videos to nicci@arielct.co.uk using the WeTransfer link below.

Chelsea - Singing

A message from Chelsea …

Hello Ariels and Prosperos! For your singing lesson this week, I have set a gorgeous little song called ‘Tonight You Belong To Me.’ It’s a really happy, care-free song which I really hope you enjoy it. I have recorded the tune and a harmony line so you can learn one of those tracks and sing along with me or you can learn both lines and harmonise with yourself! I’m looking for a really bright and happy sound so keep those smiles big and I look forward to your performances. Please send your videos, in your Ariel uniform, to nicci@arielct.co.uk, using the WeTransfer link.

Hi Ariels and Prosperos! Our objective today is to improve our skills in singing and dancing at the same time, so myself and Beth have set a little task for you. I’ve prepared a few exercises to get us ready to sing and dance simultaneously, so make sure you start off with those before you get going on learning, ‘I’m A Believer.’ As you will see, there is the option to sing the tune or the harmony but if you don’t feel comfortable filming it with the dance, please just focus on the vocals - we love to see what you’ve been up to. If you want to combine it all, that is great! Please send your videos over in your Ariel uniform to nicci@arielct.co.uk using the link below. Big, confident, energetic performances is what we’re looking for!
